This full day ATV Rainbow Mountain adventure offers a perfect blend of excitement and breathtaking scenery. Departing from Cusco, the journey takes you to Cusipata for a hearty breakfast before revving up your ATVs. Glide through the stunning Andes, passing grazing llamas and vibrant landscapes, all the way to the iconic Rainbow Mountain viewpoint at 5,100 meters. Early Morning Pickup and Scenic Drive Your adventure begins with a hotel pickup in Cusco at dawn. A professional guide will contact you via WhatsApp or phone before arrival. Please be ready and waiting in your hotel lobby. We’ll drive along the northern route toward the Vilcanota Mountain Range, passing through scenic valleys, rural Andean towns, and winding mountain roads before arriving in Cusipata.

Highland Breakfast in Cusipata Once in Cusipata, enjoy a homemade buffet breakfast featuring fresh bread, eggs, coffee, and seasonal fruit. The morning air is crisp, and you'll often see llamas and alpacas grazing nearby.

ATV Adventure to Rainbow Mountain After breakfast, we’ll head to a nearby village to begin the ATV portion of the tour. Safety gear and a full briefing will be provided. Ride through rugged Andean landscapes for about 1.5 hours, passing herds of alpacas and wild vicuñas, with spectacular views of snowcapped peaks and vast puna grasslands. Hike to the Viewpoint At 4,900 meters above sea level, we’ll park the ATVs and hike for around 5 minutes to reach the main viewpoint of Rainbow Mountain. The high altitude makes the short walk feel more challenging, but the panoramic views are well worth it. Learn about the mineral formations and cultural significance of this sacred mountain from your guide. Explore and Photograph Rainbow Mountain Spend time taking in the surreal colors of Rainbow Mountain, from deep reds to turquoise and gold. On clear days, you’ll see Ausangate Glacier in the distance, one of the highest peaks in Peru and an important sacred site in Andean culture.

Return Ride and Buffet Lunch We’ll ride the ATVs back down (25 minutes), feeling the cool mountain wind and taking in the scenery one last time. Back in Cusipata, we’ll enjoy a hot buffet lunch with local dishes like quinoa soup, grilled meats, and fresh vegetables.

Return to Cusco After lunch, we’ll begin the 2-hour drive back to Cusco, arriving in the late afternoon. The return route offers a new perspective on the Andean landscape, glowing with soft afternoon light.
