Operating Schedule: 08:00 a.m. – Departure from Plaza de Armas We start the tour in the heart of Cusco, meeting point between Inca heritage and colonial architecture. 08 : 20 a.m. – Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun) We visited one of the holiest temples in the Andean world, famous for its finely worked stone walls and cultural mix with the convent of Santo Domingo. 09:20 a.m. – Sacsayhuamán We tour this majestic archaeological complex, known for its huge, perfectly fitted stone walls and ceremonial and military function. From here you can see a spectacular view of the city. 10 : 30 a.m. – Qenqo We headed to this ceremonial center where the Incas performed rituals related to astronomy and mummification. Its peculiar maze of stones and carved altars reveal the connection of the Incas with nature. 11:00 a.m. – Puka Pukara We continue to this “red fortress”, named after the reddish hue of its stones at sunset. It was a checkpoint and administrative center that protected access to the capital of Tahuantinsuyo. 11 : 30 a.m. – Tambomachay We finish with this site known as the “Bath of the Inca”, a ceremonial place linked to water and fertility, where canals and fountains that still function since Inca times are appreciated. 12:00 p.m. – Return to Cusco We return to the city after having explored the main Inca temples and fortresses surrounding Cusco.
