The Ausangate Mountain ATV Tour from Cusco is a full day high altitude adventure through some of the most impressive landscapes in the Peruvian Andes.
After early pickup in Cusco, travel toward Ausangate and begin your ATV ride across Andean highlands reaching elevations of up to 4,800 meters. Along the route, pass through rural communities, observe llamas and alpacas, and visit striking turquoise lagoons with panoramic views of the Ausangate Glacier.
The tour also includes a guided walk to scenic viewpoints and glacial lagoons, allowing closer exploration of the natural surroundings. Early Departure & Andean Breakfast The adventure begins with an early pickup from your hotel in Cusco at 4:00 a.m., followed by a scenic drive through rural Andean landscapes toward Hanchipacha. As dawn breaks, massive mountains emerge on the horizon while the crisp highland air sets the tone for an unforgettable day. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a traditional Andean buffet breakfast made with local products such as quinoa, rustic bread, fresh fruit, and hot beverages, while sharing a brief cultural exchange with local residents.

2Nevado Auzangate
Safety Briefing & ATV Ride After breakfast, an expert guide provides a 15-minute safety briefing, covering riding rules, helmet adjustment, and basic ATV handling. Once comfortable, the ATV journey begins, riding for approximately two hours through high-altitude routes surrounded by towering mountains, deep valleys, and open plains. Along the way, travelers frequently encounter llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas roaming freely in their natural habitat, as adrenaline builds with every kilometer closer to Ausangate.

3Nevado Ausangate
Guided Hike & Scenic Viewpoints Reaching the trail area, the experience continues with a guided hike lasting about 40–50 minutes. The walk passes through rocky terrain, highland grasslands, and small lagoons with intense natural colors. At the viewpoint, travelers are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the Nevado Ausangate, its imposing glacier, and turquoise lagoons formed by ancient meltwater. Free time is provided to take photos and videos while absorbing the silence and spiritual energy of this sacred Andean landscape.

4Cusco
Return, Buffet Lunch & Cusco Drop-off After the hike, the group returns by ATV to Hanchipacha, arriving around 2:00 p.m. for a hot buffet lunch featuring traditional Andean soups, local meats, and regional side dishes. Refreshed, the journey back to Cusco begins between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m., offering final views of the Ausangate landscapes as the day comes to an end. The tour concludes in Cusco, leaving travelers with lasting memories of a high-altitude ATV adventure in one of Peru’s most spectacular regions.
