Meeting and pickup
We offer a pickup service at all hotels and accommodations located within Cusco’s Historic Center. If your accommodation is in an area that’s difficult to access by car or on pedestrian streets (such as in the San Blas neighborhood), we’ll arrange an accessible meeting point just a few steps away from your lodging. Please be at the front desk or main entrance 10 minutes before your pickup time and provide your name. If you’re staying in a private apartment or an Airbnb, please send us the exact address and a point of reference.

1Cusco
7:45 a.m. – We pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to start the tour. Enjoy a comfortable drive into the Sacred Valley with great views of the Andes mountains along the way.

2Chinchero
8:30 a.m. – Arrive in the town of Chinchero to visit a local family textile workshop. Learn how local weavers make and dye alpaca wool using natural plants and minerals. You will also get to meet, feed, and take photos with llamas and alpacas.

3Archaeological Site of Moray
9:30 a.m. – Visit the impressive circular terraces of Moray. Your guide will explain how the Incas used this site as an agricultural lab to test different crops at various temperatures created by the depth of the terraces.

4Salinas de Maras
11:00 a.m. – Explore thousands of salt ponds built into the mountainside, fed by a natural saltwater spring. It is a unique view, and you will have time for photos while your guide explains how local families harvest the salt just as the Incas did.

6Archaeological Park Ollantaytambo
2:10 p.m. – Explore the fortress of Ollantaytambo, its massive stone terraces, and ancient temples. Afterward, head to the nearby train station to catch your train to Aguas Calientes. Enjoy a 1.5-hour scenic ride along the Urubamba River.

7Aguas Calientes
6:00 p.m. – When you get off the train in Aguas Calientes, our team will meet you at the station exit and walk you to your hotel. You will have the rest of the evening free to rest or explore the town before visiting Machu Picchu the next day.

8Machu Picchu
7:00 a.m. – After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will meet you to walk to the bus station. Take a short 30-minute bus ride up the mountain to the entrance of Machu Picchu. Enjoy a guided walk through the main temples, plazas, and terraces while learning about the history of this Inca masterpiece. After the tour, return by bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch (on your own) before boarding your return train.

Ollantaytambo (Pass by)
Upon arrival at the Ollantaytambo train station, our driver will be waiting for you at the exit platform with your name. You will be transferred in private transport directly back to your hotel in Cusco. Estimated arrival time in Cusco is around 6:00 p.m.

If these specific slots are sold out, our team will immediately secure the next closest available time, 100% ensuring your visit to the Inca citadel.
- PASSPORT DETAILS REQUIRED: The Machu Picchu government authority strictly requires the following details to issue your official entrance tickets: Full Name, Passport Number, Date of Birth, and Nationality. Please provide this data exactly as it appears on your passport at the time of booking.
- THE BRIEFING: A Machupicchu CN Expeditions representative will contact you one day prior to your tour to coordinate a briefing at your hotel lobby or via an agreed method. We will hand over your original physical/digital tickets, maps, and a step-by-step itinerary review.
- Tickets are assigned according to real-time availability. Our first choice is always Circuit 2 (The Classic View). If Circuit 2 is fully booked by the government, an alternative route (Circuit 1 or Circuit 3) will be assigned seamlessly so you can still experience the magic of the sanctuary.
- LUGGAGE POLICY FOR THE TRAIN: The train companies only allow a small backpack or carry-on bag per person (approx. 5kg/11lbs) for the overnight stay in Aguas Calientes. You can leave your large luggage at your Cusco hotel storage for free, or safely leave it at our main offices in Cusco during your trip.
- Please pack: Passport (mandatory for entry), sunglasses, comfortable walking clothes, hiking shoes/sneakers, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, a warm jacket, and waterproof gear if traveling during the rainy season (December to March).
- WHEELCHAIRS: Standard group tours are not wheelchair accessible. Wheelchair-accessible options are only available under a Private Tour format at an additional cost due to specialized logistics.
- GROUP SIZE: This tour accommodates a maximum of 10 travelers. During the low season, groups are often smaller (around 4 travelers), offering an incredibly personalized and intimate experience.
