Explore Boston's iconic Back Bay while honing your sketching skills. This lesson includes visits to 3-4 notable locations, where you'll receive all necessary materials to create your own sketches. Participants will leave with both initial sketches and a more developed final artwork. Additionally, the session will cover some of the rich history of the area's architecture and highlight key figures who shaped it.
We will meet at the Make Way for Ducklings Statue, in the Boston Public Garden just inside the corner of Beacon St and Charles Street.
We will walk along the length of the Commonwealth Ave Mall, and end where it intersects with Gloucester Street. This spot is two blocks away from the Prudential Center, which is on Boylston Street.

We’ll stroll along the Commonwealth Avenue Mall, which is an outdoor promenade in Boston's famous Back Bay. Along the way, we’ll create quick sketches before settling in for a longer drawing session of the neighborhood’s iconic brownstone buildings. You’ll learn techniques like two-point perspective for capturing architecture while creating your own unique Boston souvenir.
We will walk through the Boston Public Garden and stop at the statue of George Washington for another sketch opportunity.
