Situated in the Vilcabamba mountain range at an elevation of approximately 3,400 meters (11,155 feet) above sea level, this archaeological wonder lies near the edge of the tropical cloud forest. With its rich history, impressive architecture, and cultural significance, Choquequirao is often compared to Machu Picchu.
