Stand at TOP OF SALZBURG, 3,029 metres up on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, on a private day trip from Salzburg. Your private guide picks you up at your hotel and drives you through the Salzach Valley to Kaprun, where your included round-trip cable car ticket takes you through several alpine zones to the summit. Allow about four hours for the panoramic platforms over Hohe Tauern National Park with views of Austria's highest peaks, the National Park Gallery and Cinema 3000, and the ICE ARENA in season. Afterwards you have about 90 minutes in Zell am See for the old town and the Lake Zell promenade before the drive back. Only your group travels in the car, so you set the pace. This is our suggested itinerary: if you would like to see other places on the way, just tell your guide, as long as they fit into the tour time. Bring warm clothes and sunglasses even in summer.
