The Lares Trek is one of the most amazing hikes we have in Peru after the Inca Trail: you will see pristine landscapes, local Villages, lakes, mountains, llamas, alpacas, and hike off the beaten path.

You will start our trip very early around 4:30 am., To go to the thermal baths of Lares, where you will have a delicious breakfast, after a we will start hiking gradually 2 hours uphill, until you reach the town of Kiswarani where you will have our lunch, also see the potato crops, llamas and high Andean houses, you will continue our walk with a group of llamas approximately 2 hours to reach the camp on the edge of a majestic blue lake and after dinner, you will observe the constellations.
Let's start your day with a hot drink, let's do a little stretch, to start a 4-hour hike up the towering mountains, our shaman will perform a spiritual ceremony offering the local gods. After a few minutes of appreciating the landscape, you will begin our descent of approximately 2 hours, until you reach the lunch spot that is in the middle of many llamas and alpacas, after finishing you will continue for another 2 hours of walking to the camp in the town of Cancha Cancha, where you can appreciate the lifestyle of the site.
After breakfast, you will have free time to explore the village and visit the local primary school. Then you will go to meet the famous guinea pig that is very important for the lifestyle of the people of the town, continue walking the downhill for 4 hours, feeling and observing the different changes of climates, until you reach the town of Huaran for a special lunch called PACHAMANCA, after lunch we will dive for 1 hour to Salineras of Maras and then to Ollantaytambo by car, Later at 7pm take the train to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will register at your hotel and relax.
You will wake up early in the morning in order to take the first bus and watch the sunrise at Machu Picchu. The guided tour of the city takes about 2 - 3 hours with your English speaking guide, showing you the best of the citadel. Then, you will have free time to explore Machu Picchu by yourself or climb the Huayna Picchu or Montaña (optional, book in advance). When you are done exploring, you will catch the bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included). After, you will take the Panoramic train and bus back to Cusco, where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
