Winter is an amazing time to take in Yosemite’s rare groves of Giant Sequoia trees. As the summer/spring crowds clear out, the Tuolumne and Merced Groves become secluded, peaceful hiking trails accentuated by the towering Sequoia trees reaching out of view. The Giant Sequoias grow up to nearly 300 feet high/26 feet in diameter, making the the largest living things on Earth, and can live to be over 3,000 years old. If there is a considerable amount of snow on the ground, this trip becomes a peaceful snowshoe through the snow blanketed groves.

This trip can include Tuolumne and/or Merced Grove is a great for families with younger children and/or families looking for an easier hike.

- Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
- Should weather, fire, and/or delayed seasonal openings affect the chosen itinerary, a different itinerary will be offered. You will be kept in contact throughout this process. That being said, some of Yosemite most unique winter phenomena occur in less than ideal weather conditions!
