    Cusco - Huchuyqosqo - Ollantaytambo

    Cusco

    We collect you from your Cusco hotel and take you to the Patabamba Head Trail Community. During our hour-long drive, we take in breathtaking scenery.

    Once we arrive, we prepare to embark on a moderate climb uphill for the next three hours, reaching the highest point of the walk at 4,200 m/13,779 ft, while putting on our backpacks. From there, we can see rather amazing views of the nearby snowcapped mountains and valleys. We drop off at the Pukamarka (lunch) settlement and spend time visiting the Inca ruins. From there, we travel the old Inca path into Huchuy Qosqo, Inca city. We have time to tour the city, then head to the comunity of Lamay. We walk about 2 hours all the down into the Sacred Valley. You will be able to see the Inca city and all the breathtaking views of the surroundings. overnight: Ollantaytambo - Sacred Valley. Distance: 17 km or 10.7 miles | Difficult 7 to 8 hours is the approximate time. Huchuy qosqo—Pukamarka is a sight.

    Stop at KM 104. The old Inca path starts in the lovely cloud forest amid the Andean mountains. Chachabamba, a little archeological structure thought to have formerly been a guard house for Machu Picchu and a tiny offering place before entering Machupicchu citadel, is the first Inca site. The trail then climbs gradually for around three hours until you reach 8,690 feet (2,650 meters). You will pass a stunning waterfall on your way; keep going to see Wiñay Wayna, which translates in Indigenous Quechua language as "forever young."

    On the Inca Trail, Wiñay Wayna is regarded as the most exquisite and best-kept Incan site. It was only discovered seventy years ago. Following your tour and exploration of Wiñaywayna and lunch, you will travel on level ground for almost 1.5 hours to the "Sun Gate," from which Machu Picchu is clearly and grandly seen.

    Inti Punku Sun Gate

    From Sun Gate Vista Point, you will descend for around forty minutes toward the main structures of the citadel, enjoying amazing panoramic views along the paved Classic Inca Trail. At last, we boarded a bus heading to Aguas Calientes for dinner and overnight. Hike Eight miles (13 kilometers) separate Machu Picchu from here. Minimum Altitude: 2,030 m, or 6,656 feet Peak Altitude: 8,690 feet (2,650 meters) Six to seven hours is an approximate time.

    At Machupicchu, you will have an incredible guided tour of one of the marvels of the earth. We strongly recommend leaving early in the morning (5 a.m.).
