We will pick up you at the hotel, (5:00am) we will start our adventure to the Humantay Lake.
After about a 4-hour drive, we will stop in Mollepate to enjoy a delicious breakfast and get energized for the day ahead.
Continue the drive to Soraypampa, located at 3,850 meters above sea level, where we begin our trek to Humantay Lake.
We will hike for about 1.5 hours, reaching Humantay Lake at 4,200 meters above sea level. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the lake and, on clear days, the stunning snow-capped Salkantay and Humantay mountains. After taking photos and having some free time, you can also offer a small gift to the Apus (mountain spirits). Alternative: Horses are available for rent for those who prefer not to hike.
After your time at the lake, we will begin the descent back to Soraypampa. The walk down takes about 1.5 hours and is much easier than the way up. Once back at Soraypampa, enjoy a delicious lunch and take some time to rest before we start our return journey.
After lunch and a rest, we will make our way back to Cusco, where we will arrive around 6:00 PM.
The day begins with a hotel pick-up at either 6:00 AM or 8:00 AM (depending on train ticket availability).
After pick-up, we will drive you to Ollantaytambo train station, approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes from Cusco. Once at the train station, you will board the train to Aguas Calientes, with a scenic 2-hour journey through the mountains and jungle of southern Peru (train snacks are included).
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, our staff will be waiting to take you to the bus station. You will board a bus for a 30-minute ride up the mountain to reach Machu Picchu.
We will go to the entrance of Machu Picchu, where you must present your tickets and respective identification documents, from this place you will start the guided tour in the citadel of Machu Picchu, visit the main venues of the city with our guide who will give you all the information and history of Machu Picchu for approximately 2 hours, we will visit the citadel and places such as: the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Rooms, among others, on your way we invite you to open the senses and fill with the great energy that hides this majestic place.
After the guided tour, you will take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes. Once in Aguas Calientes, you will have time for lunch at one of the local restaurants. You may also choose to visit the Hot Springs in Aguas Calientes, located to the north of the town.
At the designated time, you will board the train back to Ollantaytambo, which takes approximately 2 hours. Our staff will be waiting for you at the train station with a sign with your name.
From Ollantaytambo, we will drive you back to Cusco, with an expected arrival time of 10:30 PM.
The day begins with a 4:30 AM pick-up from your hotel in Cusco. You will be transported by tourist vehicle to the South Valley.
After a 3-hour drive, you will arrive in the town of Pitumarca.
From Pitumarca, the journey continues to the village of Cusipata, where you will stop for a delicious breakfast to recharge for the trek.
After breakfast, you will start your trek, which will take you through scenic areas with herds of alpacas and llamas and stunning views of the Ausangate Mountain. The walk will last approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, passing through typical villages where you can interact with the local people. Finally, you will reach Vinincunca, also known as the "Mountain of Seven Colors" (5,020 m / 16,466 ft). You will have time to explore and take photos while enjoying the beautiful and magical rainbow-colored mountain and views of Ausangate.
After exploring Vinincunca, you will begin your downhill trek back to the village of Cusipata, which will take around 1.5 to 2 hours.
After lunch, you will be transported back to Cusco, with an expected arrival time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM.
