Spend a day in the Alps and visit the Eagle's Nest, 'The Where Eagle's Dare Castle' of Werfen and admire at the Golling Waterfalls. Next to the historical Eagle's Nest the 11th century Fortress Hohenwerfen, one of the most magnificent mountain fortifications in the Alps, is another top highlight of this 8-hour private tour from Salzburg.

Meet your professional driver-guide at your Salzburg hotel and begin your journey towards the Bavarian Alps. Leaving the historic city behind, enjoy a scenic drive through the Salzach Valley on your way to the first highlight of the day, Hohenwerfen Castle.
Castle of Werfen is one of the most magnificent mountain fortifications in the Alps and was also used in the “Where Eagle’s Dare” movie with Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood. It was the castle of Werfen which was used as Eagle’s Nest, not the original location at the Bavarian Alps. Marvel at the birds of prey show of the historic state falconers, where you can see mainly native birds of prey in free flight!
Arrive in the charming Bavarian town of Berchtesgaden, where you will have time to relax and enjoy a traditional Bavarian lunch (own expense). Stroll through the historic center, discover local shops, or simply soak in the alpine atmosphere before continuing your journey to the Obersalzberg and the Eagle’s Nest.
The Obersalzberg is one of the most historically significant locations in the Bavarian Alps, once serving as a key secondary headquarters of the Nazi regime. During your stop, your guide will point out the former Berghof site, Hitler’s mountain residence, and explain the historical importance of this area within its alpine setting. Today, the Obersalzberg offers a striking contrast between its peaceful mountain scenery and its complex past.
From the Obersalzberg you will access the Eagle's Nest with special busses and elevator. You will have 2 hours at the Eagle's Nest. Take a stroll to the very close summit Kehlstein to overlook the picturesque Bavarian and Austrian Alps. From November 1st, until about May 10th, (depends on the snow conditions of the year), the Eagle's Nest direct access road is closed alternatively, we offer to visit the Rossfeld summit instead. From this vantage point, soak in panoramic views of the stunning Austrian and Bavarian Alps and the nearby Eagle's Nest. Feel free to choose this option also when Eagle's Nest is opened if you prefer a much less crowded, more local site than the Eagle's Nest.
After eight hours exploring the Eagle's Nest and the Where Eagle's Dare Castle of Werfen, your private tour will conclude with drop-off at your Salzburg City hotel or any other location in Salzburg.
