After pickup from your preferred Cusco hotel, we will head to our first stop, Chinchero. Here we will visit a Textile Center, where we’ll learn about the woven process of the famous traditional textiles of the area, the extraction of the alpaca wool, and more. Then, we’ll be privileged with a view to the ancient Chinchero Archeological Site.
Our next stop will be in Moray, an ancient agricultural laboratory where over 250 plant species were cultivated during the Inca era.
Once we’ve finished our excursion, we’ll head towards Maras, a small town with colonial and Inca characteristics.
We will visit the Salineras, a group of over 3,000 salt mines currently used by the locals for the extraction of salt since Inca times.
After a morning of exploration and fun, we will stop for lunch in Urubamba, a beautiful valley surrounded by towering mountains and an evergreen natural landscape.
Following the itinerary, we’ll continue to Ollantaytambo. The small town is a well preserved example of the urbanistic knowledge of the Incas, surrounded by towering mountains and a flourishing nature. During the Inca times, Ollantaytambo was an administrative, ceremonial, and military center.
• You can continue your experience to Aguas Calientes with a train ride from the Ollantaytambo Train Station. • If you wish to return to Cusco, the departure time from Ollantaytambo will be at 16:45h, arriving at Cusco around 18:00h.
