Your host will meet you at the bus station or your hotel in Huaraz. He will take you on a 3-mile/8 km ride to your destination through the small towns surrounding Huaraz. You will be welcomed by your host family with breakfast and shown around the house and your room.
After settling in, your guide will take you on your first activity, which, depending on the season, may involve traditional architecture, agriculture, or local handicraft making. Once done with your activity, you will enjoy a delicious local lunch prepared by the family.
After lunch, you can rest for a bit, start your next, new activity or continue the activity you started earlier. In the evening, you will enjoy a great dinner. You will also have free time before and after dinner to walk around town, talk to the locals, or ask your guide for other suggestions.
This day is dedicated to doing a lot of activities. Depending on the season and your preferences, you may go on a full-day hike with your host and see one of the beautiful lagoons, learn how to harvest quinoa, corn, or potatoes, cook a local dish, or learn more about traditional architecture and build your construction in the typical style of the region. In the evening, you can learn how to prepare the sacred drink of the Incas.
You have this day to take one more activity and learn more about the culture and community. In the evening, you'll be back at the Bus Station or your hotel in Huaraz.
