Terrible experience
Pros:

Terrible experience. So far every accommodation in Peru was great. This was absolutely horrible. Receptionist could bearly speak English. He took us to small smelly room on the ground floor. It's three of us traveling together. Room was small and old. No internet in the room. Only cold water in disgusting bathroom. Room was very loud due to complete reconstruction in the hotel. 3 stars? It's a joke.

Horrible hotel
Pros:

This eas the worst hotel we have been in Peru and we spend in this beautiful country one month. For the same price you can find much better hotel in the same location. Hotel was underconstruction and nobody told us before. Breakfast is joke. Staff is not really friendly and they dont speak english at all. Hotel is outdated, mold in thr bathroom, no wifi in the room. Dont want to have this experience again.

Price change
Pros:

They are currently renovating the hotel, great if you like jack hammers. Breakfast was good and great location but a little noisy. When we checked out they wanted to change the price as we were paying credit card. Know where do they show extra charges for non cash. Tried to work this out employee got agitated. I would not stay here.

Not a 1 star hotel
Pros:

if you’ve landed in Cuzco for a visit to Machu Pichu and chose Tupac to spend your night, you can forget about resting. a lot of noise on the hallways, no hot water in the morning and crappy rooms. this is not a 3 stars hotel. Breakfast? A joke. Spend your money elsewhere.

Stay somewhere else - you won’t sleep
Pros:

Disappointed at this hotel, which doesnt feel like a hotel at all. More like a guesthouse or hostel. The only thing good about it is its location. Stay here if you dont mind more of a “camping” experience (and not in a good way) than a hotel one and not sleeping.

Asked in booking process to give us a quiet room away from main areas as we’re travelling w/ a 2 yr old. Mentioned it again at check in even suggested another building I read from reviews they had or a room on the second floor (where we later ended up) but my concerns were dismissed with “the hotel is not full” so it will be “ok” and Rubi at the front desk gave us the first room next to reception, on the ground floor right in front of the courtyard. There was literally no other room more noise exposed. We were later told they gave us this because “they wanted to gove is their biggest room” but that’s crazy- if I tell you noise is a concern twice! Big mistake. There were really loud people laughing and talking, playing music on their phones right outside our flimsy door, albeit not too late for normal people but again we had a small child. There is no insulation of ANY kind as it is an old building. Lack of insulation also there for the weather, it was VERY cold at night. Website description says there’s heating but this is deceptive. They give you so tiny electric heaters way too small for the room. I went to reception to ask for more blankets and was told there were none to give me. Bathtub plug got stuck so had to shower in the morning over dirty cold water from night before. They came and fix it and when asked how to safely put it in again, the guy said they would have to come again to remove it with a screwdriver.

First night we had zero sleep. Finally went to sleep when the party outside finished, only to be woken up at 3:45 by some people talking outside. At 5 there was some very loud knocking by staff at the main door of the hotel just meters from our window/door and went on for a while as no one opened, almost got up to open them myself. Then at 5:30 the blender was on, Im guessing for breakfast preparation. After that the noise increased.

Something they dont say on the site or here on booking.com is that these events on the courtyard are allowed by them, not ideal after a full day hiking when you want to rest. I guess this is fine for some, but I wish they would have been transparent and put this on their hotel description as I would have stayed somewhere else.

By reading reviews I discovered they have another building further away and asked if we could be moved there, but they said no. Finally convinced them to at least put us on the second floor and they did really reluctantly. My husband had to help the guy to carry up on the stairs the hotel’s baby cot. We had no help bringing up out luggage and we had to move the furniture in the room around ourselves to manage to fit thr baby cot in the room.

This second room was a little warmer as it didn’t have a window but still we had to put towels in the door’s gap and hang our clothes on the door to try to keep the cold draft out. You also have to be on the case to get toilet paper and toiletries, and they only give a bar soap and a shampoo in a sachet. No hair dryer in the room, I only found out they had as I came down to reception with wet hair to ask. There were no security boxes in any of the 2 rooms we had, so had to carry around our passports all the time.

After all this, we asked if we could get late check out (1 pm) as our flight was leaving at 4. Mind you this is low season and hotel wasnt full. We were told we had to pay 30 USD for the luxury (which is very close to the price of a full day rate). After asking again in consideration of the terrible experience they granted one hour extra, but again feels like they should have tried a little more all things considering.

There seems to be only 3 people working here, a young guy and a not so young one and a lady called Rubi. They all look overworked and very tired. So at first I put it to that, but then they were also quite rude so hard to have sympathy for them.

All in all, the actual building is nice but not fit for a good nights rest. Perhaps ok for young travellers but definitely not for people that like to sleep without unreasonable noise in a room with proper heating and a functioning bathroom. Definitely not good for families.

Beds werent comfortable and the bathroom was really worn and mouldy.

Great place to stay in cuzco
Pros:

This hotel is in a great location to get anywhere in central Cuzco. All walkable. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Warm and clean rooms with hot showers. Lovely courtyard to hang in for a short rest.

Pros:

When I arrived, I was informed I should pay in cash only because the price offered was too low... I insisted I would pay with credit card and she said she would add a 5%. At the end I paid in cash. My first room assigned was in the back of the property, no windows, dirty and with constructions in front of the door. Nothing to do with the pictures. I asked to move to another room and they gave me another one better, but without toilet paper nor soap. You should take out this property from the options.

Great hotel, attentive staff, cultural feel
Pros:

Stayed in this hotel for two nights before the inca trail and it was great!

Staff are very attentive, helping us with our bags on the first night. Replenishing the breakfast when things running low. Breakfast was cereal, ham, cheese, mini omelettes, chips, beef stew, fresh fruit and lots of avocado! Really tastey.

Lots of the coca tea available 24/7!

Room was lovely and spacious. Tiled floors were quite slippy so bring flip flops or just wear your shoes. Okay shower. Tv in room. Free WiFi was very good.

Beautiful courtyard was lovely to sit in during the day.

We came in August which is their winter so it’s a little chilly in the mornings. But a fleece kept us warm.

Location of hotel just off central square so quiet but easy 5 minute walk to the main square. Perfect!

Great location, adequate rooms
Pros:

The hotel space is beautiful, with courtyards and a breakfast buffet that the staff are attentive to keeping the food stocked. It’s also very well situated, about 2 blocks from the main plaza. The rooms are adequate — the bed was comfortable but our shower door didn’t even cover the entire shower. You do hear people in the courtyard from the rooms.

Great location but so so accommodations
Pros:

Stayed in 2 different rooms. One in the courtyard was loud and breezy at times. They have room heaters which help. Beds were very firm. The 2nd room was in an underground part of the hotel. It was dark and dank but warmer than the courtyard. Breakfast is great with lots of variety. Hot water is turned off at night. So be sure to ask for them to turn it on 15 minutes before you want to shower.

Great Stay
Pros:

Staff were very nice and accommodating. They let us have our room as soon as we arrived at the hotel which was around 6 in the morning. Room was okay and clean, you get a reasonable set up for the price you pay. Location was perfect, close to a lot of restaurants, convenient stores and just a few minutes walk to Plaza de Armas.

If you're looking for inexpensive affordable yet comfortable stay, would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place, plus again the staff were very kind and helpful :)

Basic, Comfortable and very helfull staff
Pros:

For those looking for a great location, inexpensive and friendly staff, this is the place. It's a two minute walk to the city center with many, many restaurants along the way. The room is comfortable, but very basic. The staff were kind in enough to make us early breakfast before our pickup to one of our 5:00 am excursion. For anyone going to Cusco, be aware of the impact of the altitude! It takes a few days to get acclimated.

Cool affordable hotel close to Centro
Pros:

A cool affordable hotel with decent rooms and a beautiful courtyard that's very close to El Centro Historico and downtown. The clerk at the front desk ,Johan, was very helpful and accommodating when an issue came up. He also gave us directions and recommendations. I really liked this place. Would definitely stay here again.

2 night visit in Cusco
Pros:

The building is beautiful and the staff are really nice. Unfortunately the building whilst we were there was really noisy. We had rooms In The courtyard downstairs. Any time people were in the courtyard it would be really noisy. People move around very early to catch buses etc. it is mostly to do with the accoustics of the building . But I would not stay there again based on this. Unless you could get a room in another part of the building. The Internet was really poor. But this might be the general state of internet service in the area. However as we got more remote we had much better internet service. I think over all the hotel was overpriced but the building is very beautiful. But has not much else going for it apart from the breakfast is good. Would not really recommend staying there though.
