This hotel is probably only a 2 star, as it defiintely does not have the amenities of a 4 star. The rooms are very small and poky with no air-conditioning in rooms or throughout the hotel (I believe just the reception area had air conditioning). Our room was so stuffy, I requested a fan and kept the door open to get some fresh air, as the room had no external windows. There was no natural light or ventilation in the room - which is very bad for health. So the room standard detracted from the whole hotel.
On the plus side there was a good breakfast and a drink station (water and Coca Tea) was at the reception level.
Generally, the staff were friendly and helpful.
The location and the staff
Rooms and corridors need modernisation to command 4* prices
Tired and worn finish, poor workmanship, mould in bathroom, no sound proofing to rooms next door and outside
Systems would not allow compensation for really poor room
Location and staff trying to work with difficult quality systems and hotel quality
System problems on arrival
Very poor finish and quality to corridors - not 4*
Very poor finish and quality in rooms and bathrooms- not 4*
Toilet not working right
Poor WiFi
No sound proofing between rooms
Could not pay for a meal with Dollars
Could not put credit on my account to cover meal in restaurant
If it weren’t for helpful staff and a reasonable breakfast, this hotel would get a 2 star billing. Although it is not in central Cusco, it is more or less walking distance to Plaza de Armas. It is an old and dated hotel and surprisingly it now has Melia label. The rooms are small but the bathroom is the real problem. It is very small, there is no where to put your clothes or your wet pack as the hand basin stand has very little space. There is just 1 hook and the dreaded shower in an old bath tub. When will hotels learn that only about 2% of guests use a bathtub, showers are used by the vast majority. Instead having the environmentally friendly refillable dispensers they still give out a small plastic bottle of shampoo cum shower gel. The rooms themselves are quite small and apparently a few rooms don’t even have a window. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, the excuse being that Cusco is usually quite cold. Clearly the mangers haven’t realised that air conditioners are used both for heating and cooling. It seems that some rooms were unbearably hot and some rooms freezing cold. Go figure! Breakfast is reasonable except the usual hotel problems of hot dishes in bain marie always being cold. The hotel needs major renovations especially as it now carries Melia name.
Hi Calos/Carlos. I'm extremely late with my review but didn't want you to think I wasn't going to post one.
While I didn't stay at the hotel, I went there for dinner and lunch. Where I met the nicest of servers. He introduced me to some flavors of teas and was quick to comp my bill when thete was an issue with my lunch.
Thanks Calos I truly appreciate your hospitality and will most certainly pop in if not stay at the hotel. All the best to you and your colleagues, family and friends for 2026!
Nothing
Check out at 9 is ridiculous, air conditioning made sound by night, rooms are not sound proof, and bathroom smelled like sewage.
Very beautiful and welcoming hotel. Very rich and varied breakfast, and the service throughout the day is efficient. The staff is kind and helpful, especially Frank, who was very accommodating in lending us some backpacks and giving us lots of information… thank you!!!!
The hotel was close to the historic center, there are a lot of trees and plants in the hotel, which is nice) It's beautiful, clean, the room is cleaned every day and most importantly, there was a bathroom)
