Adorei o hostel, principalmente os meninos que trabalham no local, super atenciosos e prestativos. Hostel bem localizado e confortável, voltaria a ficar.
My favourite hostel during my whole two months of travelling! Amazing breakfast, hot showers, the most comfortable beds!! I love it!
The attention and quietness.
Everything great.
El desayuno, el lugar, TODO
Helpful staff. Answered any questions I had, room was nice, good to have curtains. Kitchen was well equipped and good breakfast too.
Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was varied (hard to find in Peru!), and the facilities were clean. They had social activities and free dance lessons for those interested. I ended up extending a few days, it was that chevére.
S'all good
Perfect location, hot showers, comfy beds and amazing breakfast! Will definitely return!
Tranquilo ideal para descansar, cerca del mercado san Pedro y centro siempre es bueno ver la estructura de la ciudad y es interesante caminar
😬😬😬... No alcance el desayuno 😕, debería de ser hasta las 9am
Facilities are great, breakfast also very good. Awesome value for what you pay.
No key for the rooms (?), and doors often left open. Lookers in the room have a tiny lock hole, so our lock didn’t fit. Cost 10 soles to buy one at the hostel…feels like a forced sell.
Before going into detail, I would like to clarify that I speak English, have traveled to 40 countries, and worked for a long time as a hostel receptionist myself.
I arrived in the hostel at 7:00 AM by night bus from Arequipa. I asked if early check-in was possible, but I was told no. I understood that it was due to hostel policy and said I would wait.
While waiting, I worked on my laptop in the working space in front of the room at the end of the second floor. and between 7:00 and 8:00 AM, I saw several other guests who had also arrived on night buses checking in and going to their rooms. I began to wonder why I was the only one who couldn’t check in.
Around that time, I ran into friends I had met earlier in Arequipa. They were also scheduled to arrive at this hostel at 8:00 AM the same day. Since I had been denied early check-in, I assumed they would be as well. However, they told me they were able to check in immediately upon arrival. They also mentioned that they had asked the reception where I was and whether I had checked in.
So I went back to reception to ask what was going on. Only then did the receptionist say that my friends had asked about me, and that my assigned bed was still occupied, so I would have to come back at 2:00 PM.
I had no choice but to continue working in the common area, went out for lunch, and came back to check in after 2:00 PM.
When I finally checked in, I noticed that my assigned room was right next to the working space. Since I had been there from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM, I knew that no one had checked out of that room during that time. Additionally, it was not high season and there were many empty beds available. Therefore, the explanation that my bed was still occupied was clearly not true. Even if it had been true, I know from my experience working as a receptionist that they could have reassigned me to another available bed and allowed me to check in.
Furthermore, the room had a balcony. Despite many empty beds, I was assigned the noisy and cold top bunk by the balcony. When I asked for a bottom bunk, they changed it, but still placed me in the bottom bunk closest to the balcony.
At check-in, I received only a small note and was not given any explanation about the hostel facilities. I happened to overhear the staff explaining things to other guests during their check-in, so I already knew about the coca tea and breakfast information. If I had not overheard those explanations, I would have known nothing about the facilities.
I hesitated to use the word “racism” because I did not want this to seem like a victim mentality. However, based on my experience working as a receptionist and having traveled to 40 countries, this was the first time I experienced something like this. If it was not discrimination, I cannot understand why, out of so many people, I was the only one denied check-in.
I had booked five nights. Since all the other staff members, except the one who handled my check-in, were kind, I decided not to argue and let it go. However, I am leaving this review in the hope that other travelers will not experience the same treatment.
La salle de séjour
Les déjeuners étaient très froid ainsi que le café
Gostei de tudo, começando por uma equipe super gentil, em especial o Roy e o responsável do bar. Ótima localização, limpeza, café justo e o quarto era ótimo.
Nada, tudo perfeito.
Friendly and great hostel. They put on dancing classes on a thur, Fri and sat.. location is up hill so bear in mind if you struggle.
Now. This is where it's let down. The bed and room were great.
I had messaged a head asking for a room with a window because we could see some of the rooms had no windows. On arrival the guy seemed lost when I mentioned the window. So he called a manager. After a quick chat we were told the room we booked had had an accident and had been flooded from the toilet. I asked to see but they couldn't.
So we were in this nice room no window but plastic sky light. The room was so stuffy and hot that we both struggled to sleep. My partner can fall asleep sleep anywhere. We tried leaving the door open before going to sleep but looked on to the enclosed courtyard where reception was. By the end of our stay she didn't feel so great with no ventilation.
Major let down and for this I wouldn't stay here again which is a shame.
Also as all rooms look on to reception area/courtyard it can be loud and music played at times. First night we were there music was loud and went on late. Other nights more staff or guests speaking loudly.
