This is my second stay here and the facilities are very nice, in a well maintained, colonial era building. Everything is exceptionally clean. Breakfast is tasty and the owners are very, very kind. The paintings are from the 1600's and there are always fresh flowers. Difficult to beat the value.
The downside is that you can get locked out in the mid to late afternoon, because there are just a few staff members. I was there in the winter and it can get quite cold waiting for someone to come back and unlock the front door. In two weeks, I was locked out at least four times for about an hour each time. Also, when there are few people staying in the hotel, breakfast may be late.
I'd stay here again. Note that the owners speak no English, but are very kind and will try to help you with anything you need. Love the dog, Lilo. Peruvians like windows open, and lots of fresh air, even in the winter. There is seldom any heat, so dress warmly when you need to.
I didn't like being locked out. It always happened in the afternoon, after 2pm but it would be open again before 5pm.
This is a hidden gem and perfect for the frugal traveler. You’ll need some basic Spanish to stay here, but the price and accommodations are great, the husband/wife team who run it are friendly, all at a very low price. And the breakfast is great. There’s a bus that stops just steps away that will take you downtown in about 40 minutes, for 1 sole. My room had a small balcony and a refrigerator.
When you rent at a small place, they often keep the front door locked, so you can be locked out. In winter (July) it’s quite cool at night. Peruvian hotels and homes seldom have heat. Dress in layers, bring a coat. They do supply extra blankets for the bed and I needed them.
The staff was friendly and made us feel at home. We came back for a second stay here. The traditional breakfast was delicious! Fresh OJ, avocado and eggs.
It’s away from center of town; but, we liked being away from the crowds and the noise.
Oh my god everything they were so helpful and accommodating to our schedule !

Mário and his wife are the best host in all Cusco. Amazing friendly and helpful people, which now I can call it FRIENDS
It’s a bit far from downtown, but no big deal. There’s cabs and buses inexpensives in front of the hotel.
