I enjoyed these particular aspects of the establishment
- the central location next to the bustling market
- the bready breakfast I feasted on each morning
- the fairly comfy room, hot shower and modern television
- the free luggage storage is a welcome addition considering the late night/early morning tours in the area
The hotel is in good condition but could be improved in two areas:
- Give your clients a key to the front door. It'll save the poor sod having to open it every time I return to the hotel to rest my weary mass of a body
- the room service goons unlocked and opened my door whilst I was resting inside. I could have been caught naked or in an act of lust but luckily on this occasion I was in neither state. Please knock before entering
The staff were friendly and helpful when we requested to change rooms.
There was a luggage storage room if you needed to use it if you went to Machu Picchu or elsewhere overnight, but we didn't need to use it.
I don't how the review score is as high as it is.
Location - Walkable to Plaza Mayor with all of the restaurants and landmarks, but next to the market which meant there was a lot of noise and mess on the road outside of the hotel. Not the hotel's fault but not ideal.
Condition of the rooms - The first room that we stayed in was tiny and the bathroom ceiling was covered in mould. One of the walls was also a floor-to-ceiling window that looked into the hotel, and was covered only by very thin curtains which did nothing to keep out all of the light and noise of the hotel in the early morning hours. The carpets have all also seen better days.
We were able to move rooms to a family room for no extra cost, but it seemed like all of the rooms needed a fair bit of renovation.
Price - We stayed at the hotel a few doors down for 3 nights before we went to Machu Picchu, and we were unable to book there after so we stayed here. The other hotel was a similar price and was considerably better.
Breakfast - We only ate breakfast twice in our 3 days, as we left at 3am for a day trip on one of the days. The first day, the choice was very minimal, and on our final morning, the breakfast wasn't ready at 7:15 (breakfast is scheduled to begin at 6:30) and the food wasn't good.
Kind staff, great room, short walk to the main area.
El personal unos genios
Great Place!
It has a nice hot shower and the room itself is warm and cozy (many hotels ins Cusco are cold and so we were glad that it was warm and cozy). They also had Shampoo and a typical Peruan breakfast. Great value for the money.
