The hotel location is good, walking distance to all you need to see in Cusco, but the place is more like 2 stars, I mean the carpets are old, the hotel is old and rooms have no protection against street noise and if here are fireworks close by forget about sleep, breakfast is of very low quality I mean, I cant tell how much this hotel cost as it was booked through the travel agency but definitely wont stay there again.
Good location but very outdated
立地が大変よく、サービスがとても丁寧で素晴らしかったです。
This is a clean and nice hotel that suits it's surroundings and location.
There are two Garcilaso hotels next to each other, #1 & #2. We started in #1. We were told breakfast was in the other hotel #2. After we got to our room with 2 large suit cases, the room was the size of a shoe box, could move in the room. We asked for a bigger room, staff were very helpful and we moved to #2, much bigger rooms.
Two issues we had there;
Get in early in the morning if you want a hot shower or wait till later in the day,
No WI-FI in the rooms.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cheers
Nice hotel, modest rooms that have everything you need. Breakfast is very good! location is very good as well, only 5 min walk from the main Cusco plaza and all the main Cusco restaurants.
I would recommend for a short stay.
This property was booked by our tour company, so we really do not know how much they paid for. We stayed here for 4 nights during our stay in Cusco. Location was great walking distance to everything but the room we stayed was disappointing. The bedding has 2 thick heavy blankets which is really hard to move and the bathroom has a mild sewer smell coming out from the sink that does not have a cover and bathroom does not have a air vent and shower floor is very slippery.
This hotel looks super. We stayed here three separate nights during our visit to the region in three different rooms. Two of the rooms were okay but the third, whilst having a plug-in bedside light and plug-in heater, bizarrely there was no place to plug them in. The room was without any wall sockets! and it had some many bits of furniture it was difficult to walk around this small room. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Great location and a quaint place on Plaza San Francisco, but there’s plenty of street noise. Light sleepers might not like it.
We wish to recommend this hotel - it's very ok for bed and breakfast - and this was ok for us. After all this walking every day it was good with a night cup or two and a good bed after check in.:) In this fantastic city, Cusco there is so much to do - you nearly don't have time to spend in the hotel or in your bed :)
We stayed in hotel Garcilaso II before our Inca trail hike. Hotel was very clean and well maintained. They also held our luggage for 4 days while we were on the trail. Breakfast buffet was good with many options to chose from. Overall we enjoyed our stay here.
This hotel is just 2 blocks away from the main square of Cusco and is beautiful. The breakfast is good, it has a lot of options for everyone and there is enough space for every guest. The rooms are really nice and quite big, a dn the best part is that there is always hot water available in the shower.
Hotel Garcilaso ii is an amazing place to stay , the rooms are huge and very well maintained , friendly and helpful staff. They also stored our luggage for free when we checked out and went to see the city. Also the location is amazing and walking distance to main city center
Great place, beautiful inner courtyard. Pleasant, helpful staff. The room was nice, and ground floor. The hotel is on a side street between two plazas. Actually three plazas one block apart, very confusing if trying to find your way back. We stayed at this hotel for 3 days, should have been four, but ended up going back to Lima. My husband had altitude sickness. Would have loved to spend more time here!
Excelente ubicación. Personal muy atento. Desayuno suficiente. Es una antigua casa colonial transformada en hotel. Muy céntrica.
Good service, responsive to need of customers, good breakfast. Willing to help out with directions and recommendations of restaurants.
Extremely clean and well located. I have been in many different hotels around the city of Cuzco and Garcilazo is a good place to stay. Definitely a clean place where you will feel comfortable and warm.
(This review is about the hotel nearest to Plaza de San Francisco. There is another hotel of the same name and same company next door, closer to the Plaza de Armas.)
The service here is next to none. They were very accommodating of us and our 3 small children. The building is colonial and slightly old, which is to be expected in the historic district, however, the renovations are beautiful, and the rooms are clean and comfortable, with comfortable beds and pillows. My 18 month old son and I both got altitude sickness, and had to sleep a day to get past it. I often wake up sore while traveling, but I didn't in their beds.
We had 2 different rooms, one in the back hallway, and one on the 2nd floor balcony. Both were very good, but the one on the 2nd floor had a private balcony overlooking the Plaza de San francisco.
The courtyard is so peaceful, and is a wonderful place to sit back and relax for a while. The location nex to the Plaza de armas and the Plaza de San Francisco was PERFECT! We were able to see all the main sights of the city on foot, and not take a city tour bus. It is only a few blocks up to San Blas and the old incan foundations. The shopping is amazing, and the food in the area is excellent.
The breakfast is quite good, with bread, meat and cheese, complete with avocado and tomato sliced to put on your sandwich. They have a panini toaster to put it all in as well, which was nice. The assortment of fruit and drinks is also very good. Compared to most places we have stayed, they provided a better breakfast than we have had anywhere else.
Between travels to Puno and Machu Picchu, we stayed here 3 different times. Each time they were more than happy to allow us to leave bags checked in with them for days at a time, or even during the day when we went around the town. They gave us a ticket that corresponded to a tied ticket on our bags.
Among all the hassle of traveling with 3 kids under the age of 6, I couldn't have found a more accommodating place, nor nicer people.
Stayed before/after Machu Picchu Trek. Good budget option - no easy vehicle access but only two minutes walk from main square. Lovely courtyards at both locations. Rooms clean and simple. Breakfasts good quality.
I stayed at Hotel Garcilaso 2 which is 50 meters up the road from the main hotel. The location was right in the heart of the old area and tourist hub of Cusco so everything was a short walk away. The rooms were very clean and the staff were very friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.
We spent 4 nights in this hotel over a 2 week period. The staff were really friendly, helpful and attentive. They brought us coca tea on arrival which helped with the altitude sickness. They also held our luggage while we went trekking and on our journey to rainforest.
The breakfast buffet had a plentiful selection also.
It is really well located just off the Plaza de Armas.
I would recommend staying here if your looking for cheap, comfortable accommodation with pleasant and helpful staff!
