Shower with warm water when the weather is at 6C outside. Not much improvement after complaint. Suggest the hotel to change the whole water system.
Breakfast was good, location to centre is brilliant, the room and communal areas were very clean and looked after. Kiki is adorable! It was really helpful that they helped arrange our transport to and from the airport for us.
Despite it being advertised, there was no live music in the evenings, however, we were in shoulder season so that could explain it. Would be really useful if reception could confirm to guests on arrival where the water filters are.
I stayed at the Union Boutique Hotel in Cusco for four days during my recent trip. While there are some highlights, my overall experience did not quite match the impression given by the website, and I don't feel it was the best value for the money.
The front desk staff was great! Very helpful and you are able to contact them via WhatsApp. They quickly answered any questions and were very helpful. Thank you!
Kiki the alpaca was cute, but apparently does not like women (as told to me by the breakfast staff) she barked at me as I was passing her. Another hotel quest we met stated the same thing happened to her.
The hotel is within walking distance to everything, including the San Pedro Market and tons of great restaurants and shops. Despite being so central, the hotel is situated on a quiet street, so street noise was rarely an issue.
The room was much
smaller than I anticipated, the bed itself was comfortable, and the linens (bed and bath) were good quality, although only two bath towels provided. The room we stayed in did not look like any of the photos online and the bathroom was quite dated with very few amenities.
Housekeeping was a frustration. Even with the "service requested" sign out, our room wasn't cleaned until I specifically called the front desk on the third day. We also had an incident where our sign was flipped to "Do Not Disturb" while we were out, preventing service.
While the neighborhood is quiet, the internal noise is a problem. The halls have concrete floors, and because tour groups leave for early excursions around 4:00 AM, the sound of suitcases rolling down the hall echoed and woke us up on two of the four nights. There was also construction going on in a room in our hall. It started around 8am and didn’t finish until 5pm, loud talking, and the noise that comes with renovations for two of our four days there.
There is no dinner service available, which was a hassle when we weren't feeling great during the first day of adjusting to the altitude. We only tried the breakfast once; there wasn't much variety. For me with a gluten intolerance,
I was only able to safely have eggs and fruit.
Given the price point of roughly $1,000 USD for four days, I expected a higher standard of facilities. I believe there are likely better options in Cusco at this price point. It’s a decent enough spot if you prioritize location above all else, but be aware of the internal noise and the discrepancy between the website photos and reality.

The staff at breakfast was very efficient and courteous. They made my breakfast an awesome experience.
The breakfast staff at the Union Hotel Cusco were excellent. They were friendly and attentive.
The breakfast and the staff were phenomenal!!!! They are so attentive and helpful. I would come back here just for them honestly and Kiki the llama 🦙 lol but seriously all of the staff here are amazing from the front desk to the people that are cleaning our rooms the kitchen and bar staff. This stay was absolutely amazing and I’ll be back next time I’m in Cusco !!!! Giuseppe and Alexis handle breakfast be sure to tip them well for all that they do! They really go out of the way to accommodate you.
The Union Hotel Cusco was our first impression of Cusco/Peru and it was a fabulous one. Starting with the staff, everyone made us feel so welcomed and at home; it was truly next level hospitality-- especially the breakfast staff and front desk. The hotel was conveniently located near the main square, but far enough away that we didn't have trouble sleeping at night. The center courtyard created a cozy vibe where we often relaxed and enjoyed the company of Kiki, the hotel's very own rescued alpaca. Highly recommend if you are looking for a local boutique hotel in Cusco!
A great place to stay in a great location. The staff and breakfast staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel had a beautiful courtyard where we spent many afternoons enjoying the sunshine. The resident lama Kiki was an extra treat. Highly recommend this hotel.
Our stay here was lovely! The receptionists were very helpful and the restaurant was incredible- the best complimentary breakfast buffet I’ve had anywhere in the world. The staff was exceptional. We interacted with Julian the most who is the definition of hospitality and Guisseppe was delightful as well. Kiki, the baby alpaca on site, is a great addition to the overall experience!
The hotel itself is overpriced for what it is, but it's saving grace is Juan overseeing the breakfast service. He is friendly, accommodating and goes above and beyond, welcoming everyone as if they were an old friend, but not in a fake or overly familiar way either. He must really love his job and people. But that's just my opinion 😊
The hotel and staff are amazing. Kiki is my favorite (Alpaca). The rooms are nice and clean but there isn't much hot water or water pressure.
