Antigua Casona San Blas is hands down the best hotel my partner and I have ever stayed in. We were in love the minute we walked through the door, and we really didn’t want to leave!
First of all, the staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. Everyone was so friendly and we were so well taken care of!
Secondly, the hotel is absolutely beautiful. From the central terrace area where you can cosy up on a sofa by a fire pit in the evening, to the gorgeous bar and restaurant, the rooms and even the corridors and staircases - the architecture and interior design is stunning. We loved the art exhibitions dotted around the hotel and we even had some amazing art in our room, which was one of the “art suites”. We were wowed when we saw our room, it was really beautiful and so comfortable, with a huge bed, comfy living area and cute balcony which was a sun trap in the morning and the perfect place to put your feet up and plan your day!
Next I have to mention the fabulous restaurant and bar, where we enjoyed a spectacular breakfast every morning as well as two dinners, and tasty pisco sours cocktails at the stylish bar.
Lastly, the hotel is full of countless “little” touches that make the whole experience extra special. First up, the turndown service that includes cosy hot water bottles being tucked into your bed for the chilly evenings! We also loved what we referred to as the “snug” - a cosy lounge area just past reception with a tea station where you can relax and help yourself to a selection of delicious, handmade teas (my favourite was the cacao tea which I became obsessed with!).
We left this hotel with beautiful memories and it was a highlight of our trip to Peru. Thanks to all the incredible staff for making us feel like VIP guests!!

Nothing
Lovely charming property - beautiful decor, great neighbourhood and accommodating, friendly staff. George, who works at reception, was great. Also appreciated the small touches like the hot water bottle and the tea. They really want to make you feel at home.
Not a super luxurious hotel, so a little expensive for what it is. Hot water generally ok but did flail a little at times.
Felt very personal and welcoming. The staff were great at anticipating our every need. Wonderful start. Would definitely stay again if I’m ever I Peru.
Steep climb up to the property. But that’s more on Cusco than the hotel.
Super comfortable, quiet elegant luxury, super comfy beds, great breakfast.
Great yoga classes on 4th floor.
Some facilities are weirdly extremely expensive:( Sauna/jacuzzi is 60 usd per hour :(
Niente
très bel hôtel personnel très gentil
Everything was great. I read reviews and knew it'd be a great stay but it's the little things that exceeded those expectations. The staff are so kind and attentive, the whole place is well designed, massages are great, beds are comfy, the room is small but fine for me being alone, however, having 2 suitcases in there spread out might make the room feel crowded - if you had one of the bigger rooms, I'm sure this wouldn't be the case. The rooms don't have an AC unit but there are those old gas wall heaters that you can turn on from a specific time in the afternoon and they heat up your room so nicely - staff also come and bring you a hot water bottle every night plus a little gift (the chocolates were a great treat). The hotel is located in San Blas so walking anywhere will require you to walk up hills to get back but so worth it. If you're doing early morning day trips (4am pick ups), the hotel will pack you a breakfast pack ready for you to take if you wanted. I would recommend this place to anyone and would absolutely stay here again if I'm ever back in Cusco.
Nothing, everything was great.
The location is a winning location. Breakfast was very reach (Peru’s standards for breakfast are high and it was definitely in the high end). The staff is also going way above average even in Peru standards.
However. We took the best suite they have, which is of course also the most expensive (we celebrated special event). TURNED-OUT it is above the kitchen and dining hall. The large window is facing a corridor (ZERO privacy). Bathroom has the regular flaws in Cusco (don’t flush toilet paper) but on top of it impossible to open the window. The room itself was very nice but its location makes it actually BAD VALUE for $$$. My recommendation is to take a regular or larger room (not the suite). We visited one of these rooms. They are nice and facing really nice garden.
Muy lindo, excelente restaurante y personal.
Gern! Hier ist eine etwas außergewöhnlichere Bewertung:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It was a little cold outside when we arrived in Cusco, but the moment we entered the hotel, we felt we had arrived somewhere truly special. The pleasant aromas, the atmosphere, and the warmth of the hotel were outstanding.
The staff were exceptionally polite, professional, and always willing to help. This was something that really stood out throughout our stay. For example, when my wife wasn't feeling well and asked for oxygen because of the altitude, they brought it to her immediately, helping her recover quickly.
On our last day, during check-out, I had a problem with my credit card and was unable to make the payment. At the same time, our taxi to the airport had already arrived, and for some reason my card kept being declined. I was very stressed and worried that we might miss our flight. However, the staff remained calm, reassured me, and told us to leave for the airport so we wouldn't miss our flight. They said we would find a way to settle the payment later. Their understanding, trust, and kindness meant a great deal to me and turned a very stressful situation into a much more manageable one.
The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and warm throughout the night. The tap water was safe to drink, which was a great convenience. Breakfast was an experience in itself. It was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of choices. It was one of the best breakfasts I have ever had during my travels.
Last but not least, the hotel offered complimentary coca tea in the reception area, which was a thoughtful touch and especially helpful for adjusting to the altitude.
The outdoor areas were beautiful and well maintained, and the hotel's location in San Blas was excellent, just a 15-minute walk from Plaza de Armas.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cusco. It offers not only a beautiful place to stay but also exceptional hospitality that makes you feel truly cared for.
We booked a traditional room at Antigua Casona San Blas and were delighted to be upgraded to a suite on arrival. The room was simply fantastic, with a super-comfortable bed, a lovely bathroom, a drinks station with fresh water, and a spacious seating area where we could relax after exploring Cusco.
The hotel is tucked away on a very narrow street in the quieter, higher part of the city. It is beautifully decorated, with artwork displayed throughout, and has a delightful garden courtyard with a fire lit in the evenings.
Breakfast was delicious, with an excellent buffet as well as a menu of dishes cooked to order. The staff could not have been more helpful—nothing was too much trouble. They advised us on visiting the nearby archaeological sites and arranged a taxi for us. The complimentary airport pick-up was another much-appreciated touch.
A beautiful hotel with wonderful service, and a truly memorable place to stay in Cusco.

The only minor issue was that I had requested our two double rooms to be next to each other, but unfortunately this request could not be accommodated. The rooms were on the same floor, which I appreciated, but I was still a little disappointed that they were not adjacent.
El lugar es muy cómodo
Un poco lejos del centro de la ciudad
