Construction of this church began in 1993 and lasted for the next twenty years. Many people participated in this process, from the locals to the administration of Zlatibor, but also many other organizations. The church project was created by professors of the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade, and the paintings in the interior were done by numerous academic painters from Serbia and Greece.

As the locals themselves had a desire to build a temple in this settlement, it became a monument of multiple significance for the entire region. Apart from being a place of worship, this church stands out as an architectural and artistic work of a mixed style of construction.
