Titova Vila - the most important information
One building of unusual destiny is located in the center of Zlatibor and represents a cultural asset under the protection of the Institute for the Protection of Monuments in Kraljevo. This building is named Titova Vila or Vila Aleksandra Pavlovica and is known for its traditional exterior of a mountain villa and great tourist potential.
History of the villa
The first name of this villa was "Despite Andre (Malgre Andre)" because it was built by lawyer Aleksandar Pavlovic, even though his wife Andre did not want to live in it. After the Second World War, this building went through a turbulent period of changing owners, when it got name Titova Vila (Tito's Villa). However, Tito was in it only once, for lunch, and he never stayed here for a longer time. Shortly afterward, the villa became the building of the Representation of the Government of the SFRJ, and it was also owned by RTS.
Significance of the villa
As it changed owners, Aleksandar Pavlovic's former residence also changed functions. Due to its refined look in the style of mountain houses, it quickly showed its great tourist potential. Titova Vila is located in the Zlatibor settlement of Palisad, and you can reach it in several ways.
- By car: from the main road you can turn into Andrije Jevremovica Street, and then left into Kirgidzijska Street, where this villa is located.
- By taxi: Taxi Zlatibor, 060 / 020-63-10; Maxi Taxi 063 / 880-74-15;
- On foot: if you are in the center of Zlatibor, you can walk to this villa. From the park, you will need about 10 minutes, through Sportova Street and Kirgidzijska Street.
