Lake Borsko - the most important information
Lake Borsko is an artificial lake located at the foot of the mountain Crni vrh. It was built in 1959, originally for industrial purposes but due to the natural environment and greenery, it became one of the main tourist attractions in Bor. It is most visited during the summer months.
Characteristics of Lake Borsko
The water of Lake Borsko is clear and cold, in some parts almost completely safe to drink. During the summer, this lake is a real oasis for cooling, while during the winter, most of the lake is covered with ice. The lake is surrounded by deciduous and coniferous forests, and for that reason has beautiful landscapes in both winter and summer. Four beaches have been built on the shores of Lake Borsko, which are supervised by lifeguards during the summer. For tourists who want to spend a few days enjoying this beautiful lake, there are hotels located right on the shore. Fishing is quite common in this place and some of the many species of fish that live here are carp, catfish and perch. There is a myth that is related to the fish from this lake. Namely, it is said that a snake-like fish with wings and horse head wanders the depths of the lake, scaring swimmers. The existence of the strange creature has not been confirmed and people often call it the "Serbian monster from Loch Ness".
