Characteristics of Lazar's Canyon
On the south side of the canyon rises the mountain Malinik. In the narrowest parts, it is only three or four meters wide, and the Zlotska River, which flows through it in some places, passes between connected stone blocks that form natural bridges. In addition to imposing limestone valleys and unexplored pits, the canyon is enriched with over seven hundred and twenty plant species. In addition to flora, there is a diverse fauna in the form of invertebrates, amphibians, birds such as the bald eagle and mountain woodpecker, as well as wolves, chamois and jackals.
