Nikola Tesla Museum - basic information

The Museum of Nikola Tesla, one of the greatest scientists the world has had the opportunity to see, is located in Belgrade, in Krunska Street. It is housed in a building erected in 1929, which today is one of the cultural monuments under state protection. The museum works on preserving and showing the life and work of Nikola Tesla through personal items that remained after his death.

History of the Nikola Tesla Museum
After the death of Nikola Tesla in America, the things that remained behind him belonged to Sava Kosanovic, the son of Tesla's youngest sister. Through his efforts, those things were transferred to Serbia in 1951, after which they were handed over to the state as a gift. It was decided to use them for a museum, so in 1955 the first technical museum in Serbia was opened, which was dedicated to Nikola Tesla. After Tesla's urn was transferred to Belgrade in 1957, it was also placed in a museum, which completed the museum collection.
