Bojcinska forest is a swamp forest under state protection. It is located in Surcin, 30 kilometers from Belgrade. It is a very visited place that serves as a picnic area. Since 1965, it has been protected as a natural monument and as an immovable cultural asset of the state.

About Bojcinska forest
During the First World War, the forest was used as a shelter for locals and soldiers by King Alexander. In the Second World War, the forest was an important political and economic center. People from the surrounding villages hid in it, fleeing from the Germans. One of the main features of this forest is the flora and fauna. There are a total of 185 plant species, 15 of which have the status of protected and strictly protected. When it comes to trees there is oak, hornbeam and linden, as well as poplar, dogwood and wild rose. 108 species of birds and 10 species of amphibians and reptiles were recorded in the forest. Rabbits and roe deer can be seen from the wild animals that dominate the forest.

  • By bus 605: it starts from Bezanija, passes through Surcin and Jakovo
  • By car: from the direction of Belgrade or from the E75 highway with a shutdown at the airport in Surcin
