Youth Theater - the most important information
It was founded in 1931 and is located at 8 Ignjata Pavlasa Street in Novi Sad. It was originally a puppet theater, which had never existed in Vojvodina before. The children's stage and the drama stage make up this theater, and the performances are held in the Great and Small Halls. Over 20,000 performances took place on these stages, which were attended by close to 3 million spectators. So far, the Youth Theater has received numerous awards and recognitions, at domestic or international competitions.
History of Youth Theater
The Vojvodina Puppet Theater became the City Puppet Theater, then only the Puppet Theater, and in the end, it was renamed the Youth Theater in 1968. At that time, the hall had 166 seats, and a new stage was soon built. This theater was designed by the most important architect from Novi Sad, George Tabakovic, in the period between the two world wars. The Second World War caused great damage to the Theater, except that it did not work, puppets were destroyed and costumes were stolen.
What must you see in the Youth Theater?
First of all, the Youth Theater has a rich repertoire of plays of various genres for all ages. You have the opportunity to see the best performances of famous plays. The first international festival for children and youth, called the Novi Sad Theater Games, is being held for all theater troupes. For the youngest, during the holidays, a music and stage spectacle is held that will surely entertain them. Just some of the shows that you can watch are:

Working time and ticket prices
You can buy tickets on weekdays from 10 am to 8 pm, on weekends from 9 am to 1 pm, while the box office is closed on Mondays. The ticket price for the play on the Children's Stage is 250 dinars, while the ticket price for the play on the Drama Stage and Off Stage is 600 dinars.
How to get to the Youth Theater?
It is located at 8 Ignjata Pavlasa Street, right next to Dunavski Park.
- By car - you will need just a couple of minutes from Bulevar Mihajla Pupina. You can also follow Bulevar Cara Lazara to the Kej zrtava racije and from there turn left towards Dunavski park, from where the theater is not far. This same route can be used for arriving on foot.
