Danube Park - The most important information

In the center of Novi Sad is the Danube Park, one of the most famous attractions of this city. Today, this park is a gathering place for locals and tourists of all ages, a meeting place, and home to numerous events.

History of the Danube Park
It got its name because it leans on Dunavska Street. During the 19th century, on the site of today's park, there was a branch of the Danube covered by vegetation and then a meadow where fairs were organized. Although the decree to clean up the park was passed at the end of the 19th century, the park received its greatest improvement at the beginning of the 20th century.

The most beautiful places of the Danube Park
This oasis of nature covers almost 34,000 square meters. When visiting Danube Park, be sure to pay attention to the following:
  • Flora: Did you know that the Danube Park is home to more than 250 plant species. Thus, in the park you will be able to find peace and shade under the fir, cypress, apple, thuja, chestnut or pine trees, as well as the unique pyramidal oak - luznjak.
  • Monuments: Đura Jakšić, Venerable Sergij Radonješko, Branko Radičević and Miroslav Antić received their monuments and busts in Danube Park. There is also the "Nymph" statue, made by Novi Sad sculptor Đorđe Jovanović
  • Lake: One of the most beautiful places is the lake located in the heart of the park. Ducks gather around the islet in the lake, which also has a house there. This lake is occasionally stocked.
How to get to Danube Park?
The Danube Park is located not far from Belgrade Quay, and you can enter it from Mihajla Pupin Boulevard. We have selected for you which buses go directly to the Danube Park:
