Vrmdzanski Grad - the most important information
Near the village of Vrmdza, near Sokobanja, there are unusual remains of an old fortification. The locals call this place Latinski Grad (Latin City), and its history is covered with a veil of legend. In the Middle Ages, the regions of Vrmdza, Bovan, and Kosovo were ruled from this fortification. Then, in 1413, the fortress was completely destroyed. After a long siege, Vrmdzanski Grad was conquered by Musa Kesedzija, which cut its long historical thread. In these destructions of the fort, many traces of history were lost forever, so the Vrmdza fortress is still a rather unexplored monument.
