The National Museum of Zajecar is located in the center of the city, on the main city square. It was founded as a City Museum by the City People's Committee of the municipality. Today, the National Museum in Zajecar is among the richest in the country.

History of the Zajecar National Museum

The National Museum in Zajecar was founded on March 27, 1951. The building in which the museum is located was built in 1927 for road design.
  • A turning point in the Museum's work came in the nineties: At the beginning of the nineties, the permanent exhibition of the historical department was disbanded, which continues until today. Long-neglected and forgotten items, photos, and documents from wars from the beginning of the 20th century come to the fore.

  • By car: The museum is located on Dragoslava Srejovica street, so it will be best to take route 36 or 169 from the opposite direction. It is necessary to turn off at the Memorial to the Fallen Fighters of the Timocka Krajina and go along Trga oslobođenja Street until you reach the National Museum.
