Krstovgrad - the most important information
Collector Zeljko Kosanin keeps and exhibits his magnificent collection of works of art and historical objects in Krstovgrad, located in Progorelica near Kraljevo. This tourist complex, which is located on a hill above Mataruska Banja, provides an insight into medieval history and is also one of the most beautiful lookouts in this part of Serbia. With more than 5,000 exhibits, this private collection is the largest in the Balkans.
History of Krstovgrad
The space in which Zeljko Kosanin exhibited his rich collection covers several hundred square meters. The interior of the restaurant, which houses an authentic medieval table, is made of beams removed from old Serbian houses. Kosanin has been collecting more than 5,000 items for about 30 years with the idea of bringing the old history of Serbia closer to his visitors and preserving them from oblivion.
At the very entrance to the complex, you will be greeted by a large white cross and a statue of Saint Sava. In the always arranged yard in front of the restaurant, which is an open-air gallery, various pottery items, household items and sculptures are situated..
The exhibits consist of swords, shields, axes, knives, crowns, medieval books, sculptures, icons, porcelain and so much more. Zeljko and his wife Natasa are thoroughly taking care of this tourist complex and plan to turn it into a memorial house.

How to get to Krstovgrad?
The easiest way to get from Kraljevo is by car, for which there are several routes that follow the state road 22. Signalization and signs make the road to Krsovgrad much easier. The drive takes less than 30 minutes.
- By car: from the center of Kraljevo follow Karadjordjeva Street until the turn to the state road 22. Follow this road all the way to and through Konarevo, to the Alabaj Moto equipment in Progorelic where you turn right towards Krstovgrad. The road from there is clear, although steep.
