Museum of Illusions - the most important information

The Museum of Illusions is one of the most popular and unusual museums in Belgrade. It belongs to the type of art museums and contains over seventy exhibits related to optical illusions. It spreads over three levels and its head feature is that it offers various types of interaction with visitors.

Features of the Museum of Illusion
The museum was opened on May 22, 2018 and is the first museum of its kind in Serbia. What makes it rare in the world is that it is completely open to the public and includes photographing exhibits. Due to the action of holograms and illusions, when he enters the museum, the visitor also becomes an active participant in creating those illusions. The museum also contains a permanent exhibition designed to manipulate the senses of visitors through various types of optical illusions. The Museum of Illusions also organizes a large number of events and workshops related to the topic of illusion. In addition, the museum is open for organizing various events, including birthdays.

What to see
When visiting this museum, one thing is for sure - no one will be bored! The museum abounds in various exhibits intended to tickle the imagination and make every visitor doubt what he sees. Some of the most interesting illusions for visitors are:
  • Ames Room (distorted room furnished to provide a perceptual experience to the visitor)
  • Inverted room (allows the visitor to be photographed on the ceiling with his feet down)
  • Head on a plate (through the illusion of a hidden body, the head served on a plate is obtained)
  • Vortex tunnel (track with a rotating cylinder where a sense of balance is seemingly lost)
Working hours and ticket prices
The working hours of the Museum of Illusions are every day from 9am to 10pm. The ticket price is categorized according to the following criteria:
  • Adults: 750 RSD
  • Children (from 5 to 15 years): 450 RSD
  • Family: 1750 RSD
There is a possibility of a discount for groups of ten or more visitors.

How to get to the Museum of Illusions?
The Museum of Illusions is located near the National Assembly and can be reached from Dečanska Street. Bus lines that run near it are:
