The Banjska stena viewpoint is one of the most visited and most beautiful in Serbia. It is 6 km away from Mitrovac on Tara and well-marked trails make the walk to it easier. The name of this lookout comes from the spring whose source was at its foot. We recommend that you complete your visit to Tara with a view from Banjska stena.

About Banjska stena viewpoint
The lookout is located at 1065 meters above sea level. The spring after which the lookout was named was submerged by the construction of Lake Perucac, and while it existed  the local population used it throughout the year due to the temperature of 4 degrees, which it constantly maintained. The view from the lookout extends to Perucac, the Drina canyon and the area of Osat in Bosnia, known as the construction headquarters. In the 19th century, Banjsko tocilo, which is located below the lookout, was used to transport wood used to build rafts. Today it is overgrown with vegetation and is about 1,300 meters long.

The lookout is surrounded by a wooden fence. There is a bench from which you can enjoy the view or rest from a walk  and binoculars for a sharper view.
