History of the National Museum Cacak
The initiative for the opening of the museum was launched between the two wars, when the residence of Jovan Obrenovic was assigned to the museum management in 1940. The state of war slowed down the process and the museum was established 12 years after. The main goal of the museum was set, which referred to the study of history and preservation of cultural goods from this part of Serbia. The work of the museum was especially successful and energetic at the beginning, which enabled the museum fund to be ready for the opening of two exhibitions one after the other. The professional staff of the museum did 110 archaeological researches with external associates, over 200 publications, 100 catalogs and over 50 monographs, collections and guides have been printed. Since 1969, the National Museum has been publishing the magazine "Proceedings of the National Museum".
