Art gallery - the most important information

The art gallery in Krusevac is located in the building of the family house of the Krusevac merchant Ljotic, which has the status of a protected ambient whole. It is an integral part of the National Museum of Krusevac and is organized in five rooms.

History of the Art Gallery
The house in which the Art Gallery is located was built in the twenties of the twentieth century, and the Gallery itself was founded in 1961 as part of the National Museum. However, from 1971 to 1991, it functioned independently, and after that it started operating again within the National Museum.
The first exhibition was on January 27, 1962, and the building was purchased for the needs of the Art Gallery in 1984. Today it is a place where artists can exhibit their works in an exhibition space of about 100m2.

Characteristics of the Art Gallery
As for the appearance of the Art Gallery, it follows the style that was current among the richest people of Krusevac between the two wars: on the facade there are many floral and geometric ornaments and arabesques, on the roof there is a relief of a boy sitting, in antique style.
The Gallery exhibits works of modern and contemporary art.
