Rakari weaving court - the most important information
Rakari Weaving Palace is a cultural and ecological craft association, located in the village of the same name, on the territory of the municipality of Mionica. This association was founded by Zagorka Stojanović, an independent Belgrade artist, who is known in the world of painting as a tapestry artist, costume designer, set designer, illustrator and fashion designer. However, the greatest love of this artist is the weaving of tapestries and clothing, which is why she founded the Weaving Palace in Rakari. In this place, Zagorka creates her creations with which she plays, as she says. So far, this esteemed artist has exhibited over 30 solo exhibitions in the country and abroad.
Appearance and characteristics of the Weaving Court
Zagorka Stojanović founded the Weaving Palace in Rakari with the aim of transmitting weaving techniques to everyone who wants to learn this skill, which, unfortunately, is slowly dying out. In a short time, Zagorka renovated the yard of Stojanović, in which there were 2 dilapidated houses. One was large, with a chimney and 2 rooms, while the other was smaller, with a magazine and a large old linden tree. This unusual artist continued the tradition of an open host house by opening Avlija Stojanović. The weaving yard originates from an old magazine, and the summer stage finds its place under a linden tree. To this day, numerous artists from Serbia have been guests on that stage.
